Published: 2025.12.05

Wuhan, China – From November 14 to 16, 2025 – The 11th Academic Annual Meeting of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) Liver Disease Professional Committee was successfully held in Wuhan. Distinguished representatives from our hospital – Professor Cheng Mingliang, Lifetime Professor; Professor Mu Mao, Vice Dean of the Clinical Medical College; and Dr. Xu Wei from the Department of Gastroenterology – were invited to attend and deliver keynote presentations, showcasing the hospital’s strengths in hepatology diagnosis, treatment, and scientific research.

The conference is a premier international academic platform in the field of TCM hepatology. It attracted leading experts from China, the United States, Germany, Thailand and other nations to discuss cutting-edge developments and share clinical insights, marking it as a outstanding event of significant academic stature.

Professor Cheng Mingliang presented his latest research findings on "Advances in the Study of Human Organ Fibrotic Diseases," which were highly praised by the audience. Professor Mu Mao, drawing from his practical experience in foreign medical aid, elaborated on the advantages of Traditional Chinese Medicine within the framework of international health cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative. Dr. Xu Wei's presentation was one of only five reports selected for the conference , standing out as the sole representative from a large general hospital.

This distinguished participation further enhances the hospital's stature in the field of hepatology both domestically and internationally. It reinforces our commitment to becoming a national flagship hospital for the integration of Traditional and Western medicine and contributes "Guizhou's Strength" to the realization of the "Healthy China" strategy.
