Oncology Department at the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University Presents Research Findings at ASTRO Annual Meeting and Gains International Academic Recognition

Published: 2025.12.10

Recently, the 67th American Society for Radiation Oncology Annual Meeting (ASTRO) was held in San Francisco, USA. The clinical research findings of the team led by Professor Feng Jin and Associate Chief Physician Xiuling Luo from the Oncology Department at the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University stood out among thousands of global submissions and were selected for an oral presentation at the conference. The findings were shared on-site by Xiuling Luo during the academic exchange session.

This research focuses on the clinical challenge of postoperative residual disease in high-grade gliomas, innovatively exploring a treatment regimen combining chemoradiotherapy with PD-1 inhibitors. Clinical validation has shown that this regimen not only effectively prolongs patient survival but also demonstrates a favorable safety profile, providing new insights and evidence-based support for the treatment of such refractory tumors.

The Oncology Department at the Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Medical University consistently adheres to a clinical problem-oriented approach, delving deeply into scientific research and innovation in the field of tumor diagnosis and treatment. Multiple research achievements by the team have been cited in authoritative domestic and international guidelines, forming a positive cycle of "clinical practice-research-clinical practice". In the future, the department will continue to promote the translation and application of scientific research outcomes, persistently enhance the level of tumor disease diagnosis and treatment, and bring more therapeutic hope to patients.
